CONTEXT
For more than 20 years, Hiro Sakao has been shaped by Japanese culinary tradition and hospitality. With the opening of its Amberg location, that established character entered a new digital context — contemporary in form, but grounded in the same care and sense of hospitality.
THE CHALLENGE
The website needed to introduce the new location, carry forward 20 years of brand heritage, and make an extensive Japanese menu more visual and easier to explore. It needed to feel contemporary without losing the care behind the brand.
THE OUTCOME
I designed and developed the website from the ground up, including a refreshed visual system and a custom-coded interactive menu. The menu complements the physical card with a more visual way to explore Japanese dishes across desktop and mobile.

THE MENU EXPERIENCE
A visual companion to the physical menu. I designed and developed a custom-coded interactive menu that makes an extensive Japanese menu easier to explore without replacing the card at the table. In the last 30 days, 87% of menu visitors accessed the experience on mobile.
A NEW DIGITAL EXPRESSION
Tradition, translated for a new location. Clear layouts, considered spacing, typography, illustrations and original photography bring Hiro Sakao’s established character into a contemporary digital setting.
CUSTOM-CODED MENU COMPONENT
Built from scratch as a Framer code component, the menu keeps category navigation in context while guests explore.

FIRST ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN
To celebrate Hiro Sakao Amberg's first year, I created a short campaign film and designed the event ticket – bringing the visual system beyond the website into a physical and social moment.
